It took two of us to get this origami bastard open without breaking anything. It's all card and fold and hand printed and stuff. Once I got inside I found out that Serration is harpist extraordinare Serafina Steer who I'm sure had an album out pretty recently but here she is again; signed to Stolen, losing her surname and singing 'n' plucking her way through a new set of purdy, purdy songs. I'm sure I'm probably being an unimaginative twat for mentioning Joanna Newsom but I think there's more than just an instrumental similarity between the two, the meandering song structures are quite often very similar as well. There's (perhaps unsurprisingly) more of a traditional British folk feel to Serafina's stuff though. Recorded solo in the gym of a disused school, this is proper intimate stuff.
