10/10 Jack Customer review, 5th January 2015

Not since the freewheelin' days of Dylan's "Blowin' in the Wind" have we heard such beautiful folk ballads than on 'Shallow Grave'. Kristian Matsson, more commonly known by his moniker The Tallest Man on Earth, resides from Dalarna, Sweden but sings with a thick Southern drawl over his guitars and banjos. The imagery is tranquil and dream-like as Matsson's finger-picks delicately and croons pleasantly. Album highlight is the twisted love song "The Gardener" which tells the story of a hit man who grows his garden using his victims corpses to impress his lover. A fantastic album for anybody who wants to explore folk music.
