So this is the third volume of the Guitars From Agadez series and the second from Nigerian Tuareg outfit Group Inerane.. The music's obviously ace but what's going on with the cover? Some guy's totally Hendrix-ing one off with his axe behind his head but both he and the bloke watching him look completely gutted, like it's the worst thing that's happened to them in months. You need to take some joy ...

You need to take some joy in your showboating, lads! Anyway, if you've not heard these before you're in for a total treat as I reckon this collection of their trancey, psychedelic and curiously funky jams, often augmented by zoned-out vocal chanting, may well be even better than their first volume, which I believe had the honour of being the first vinyl release on the label. Plus the sound quality's noticeably better than the usual Sublime Frequencies recordings.. Bonus!
