Remember post rock? We do. We remember bucket loads of serious young men doing quiet loud dynamics and not singing very much. We used to sell tonnes of the bloody stuff. Its tailed off in recent years with only the mammoth bands remaining, Mogwai have a new album out soon, Sigur Ros probably own Iceland by now and from Italy Giardini Di Miro have soundtracked a film and released it on CD. It has to be said that its expertly done. Beautifully recorded, each song starting quietly and slowly gathering pace with such things as strings and clarinets joining the carefully picked guitars and subtle drumming. You probably have to wait until track 7 before they really let rip with guitars gradually becoming more distorted and the dynamics reach Godspeed like proportions. They are expert in adding little twists and melodic progressions which keep it interesting so its not just random start quiet, end loud stuff, there's things going on beneath the surface. For fans of Mogwai, Godspeed, Sigur Ros, I Like Trains, etc etc etc.
