Ooh, windy. These field recordings were apparently made in a blustery Shetland a couple of years back and were inspired by a sound artist called Alan Lamb.. I guess those Beefy & Lamby adverts could only pay the bills for so long. So yeah, given the source material there's inevitably a bit of a minimalist, isolationist sort of vibe at work here but as it works its way through its series of short tracks traces of civilisation seem to make themselves known through various clanking, metallic sort of sounds, but you never know with these things - sometimes they play little tricks on the listener with their unexpected sound sources. They'll flip ya, flip ya fo' real. I'm sure I've used that quote before, I should get some new ones.
