- Music To Suffer By by Leona Anderson

The first time I heard this insane woman caterwauling was when Jonny Trunk sent me a stream of 'Rats in my Room'. I then proceeded to laugh hysterically for too long at possibly the worst adaptation of pre-war waltz & music hall music i'd heard in my life. Her stuff isn't without charm though, the music is quite acceptable with spots of brass band, traditional jazz & the like....but her voice! Christ-on-a-bike, is she taking the fucking piss or what? She sounds like the ultimate old dotty aunt who's wandered onto the stage in a alzheimers induced haze and shoulder-barged the "real" singer into the orchestra pit just in time for the start of the show (but no-one is brave enough to dispense with her services) Everyone in this office is suffering from listening to lil' old Leona (but in a good way I think). How this originlly got commited to vinyl (when she should have been commited instead) back in the late 50s i'll never know but I'm kinda glad it has been dusted down by MadJonnyTrunk (tm) and forced upon a new generation. It certainly has supreme comedy value, I'm confident. Just don't blame me, that's what sound clips are for you fools....
