The first time I heard 'Dead Disco Dancer' I couldn't believe it when the fella started singing. That voice... It's ludicrously deep and verging on the ridiculous. I don't mean to offend but it's fucking funny and everytime his voice kicks in I just don't expect it the floor to vibrate like it does. It's not a bad voice.... It's just a very deep one. Mind you he's 6.8ft which probably explains that... Best keep my mouth shut before he kicks my short arse to oblivion....That aside it's a ridiculously catchy song and after one exposure to it you'll find yourself singing it all weekend. You have no choice. Anyway the debut album is full of gothy moments inspired by past superstars such as Bauhaus, The Damned, Nick Cave and probably most obviously Joy Division. I think if you liked the single you'll find plenty to like in the album. I'm not sure if there's another song anywhere near as catchy but as far as indie goth pop/debut albums go it's not bad at all. There's some nice Cocteaus-esque guitar moments in there and to be honest it's quite shoegazey at times. There you go. It's out now... Make your own mind up.
