10/10 Eggwood Customer review, 11th February 2016

The soundtrack to whatever summer it was when it was first released and a firm favourite ever since! I LOVE IT!

Far more accessible than the "Ou Panis Et Circensis" tropicalia compilation this record never fails to make me smile and makes me wanna dance too (not a pleasant sight I assure you). Pretty much every track is a winner. There's the fantastic dirty guitar grooves of Os Mutantes' "A Minha Menina" (the one covered by "The Bees"), the driving drums and breathless vocals of Gal Costa's "Sebatiana", the wonderfully wobbly bass line on Caetano Veloso's "Alfomega" and Tom Ze's "Jimmy Renda-Se". This last one was sampled heavily and became a hit by someone too unimportant for me to bother looking up - but trust me, the original tune is awesome!

This album went goes down a storm at a party with the right kind of musically open-minded people. But, are you that kind of person? If you are reading this review, chances are, you are the right kind of person. And if you are that kind of person then you need this album in your life, go buy it!
