Here we have a brand spanking new full length vinyl release from Mehdi Ameziane who is of course one half of Natural Snow Buildings. Kicking straight off with 'Black Nebulae' we're immediately in dark psychedelic terrain with Medhi's trademark swirling drones and rich textures. Then the brief interlude of '1976' makes way for 'Ghost That Was Your Life' which really showcases the quality of the mans songwriting skills, as well as his unique angelic vocals. 'The Big Sand' heads south of heaven with an overwhelming sense of impending doom, like a ghostly sandstorm sweeping across a barren desert. Then somehow the feeling of the track seems to gradually transform into luscious sparkling tones and celestial smothered melodies. Both 'Desert Prophecy' and 'Trailer' are more fine examples of earthy magical folk which feels like it's been buried in a time capsule. The icing on the cake here is the immense closer which pretty much comprises half of the album. 'Then Fell The Ashes' is a colossal evocative piece which is very dynamic during its duration with dark brooding drones, field recordings, guitar and rays of light peering through the darkness. After listening to this is it doesn't take a genius to see why this artist has gained such a cult following. Limited edition in heavy duty tip-on sleeve. Recommended.
