Christ, I can't believe these are still around. I remember when I was about sixteen or seventeen I used to occasionally receive a little Chemikal Underground newsletter/fanzine sort of thing and they were sort of one of the 'other' bands on there even then. They obviously played second fiddle to the likes of Mogwai and Arab Strap in my particular way of thinking but while one of those bands no longer exists and the other has been treading water for a fair old while, Radar Brothers (not Bros. any more?) seem to have improved with age. Or maybe it's just me getting older and mellower, who knows? Whatever the case this is a fine collection of laid back, moderately slackerish and folky indie pop-rock with a very slight experimental edge, sometimes sounding like Dinosaur Jr. or Sebadoh with the scuzz taken out and the volume turned right the way down but generally keeping things sounding pretty classic on the whole with the strong songs given ample room to breathe.
