This is a nimble bit of upbeat West Coast-style jangle pop and no mistake. Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, The Flying Burrito Brothers and all that stuff - it's all there in the dude on the back who's got that fringe 'n' tache thing going on. Yeah, alright, it's there in the music too.. As are the likes of Big Star or even more modern exponents of that sort of style like Teenage Fanclub. I remember their previous releases having a little bit more of a psych-y edge than this one but you can still hear a little of that in there, especially during the solo which has got just the slightest droney Spacemen 3 tinge to it. The sun went in when I put this on, which probably wasn't the intention.
