Bit of a curious little project this...here Mr. Faith No More/Tomahawk/Fantomas unveils a Italian speaking collaboration with an orchestra which initially sounds like the recipe for an Italian rock opera. Infact, it's a rather crazy mix of styles and sounds that have more in common with a musical (i know, the difference is limited but you get the idea). Kinda hard for me to get my head around really...especially the ridiculous 'Che Notte' that sounds like some lost swinging zoot suit classic or opening 50's style italian pop ballad 'Il Cielo In Una Stanza'. It's worth noting that Orchestra "Filarmonica Arturo Toscannini" sound outstanding and Mike's vocals are unbelievably effective. Is there anything Patton can't do with the throat! It'll take a few more listens for it to make any sense to me but i'm enjoying what i've heard so far. Definitely of interest to those of you who enjoy following Patton and his crazy musical progress, especially if you like the Fantomas/Mr Bungle stuff.
