The single that precedes new album 'Paul White & The Purple Brain' sees Paul White deconstruct the works of Swedish multi-instrumentalist's S.T. Mikael. What he doe's with the source material is immense. Armed with just a sampler, a few studio tools and a vast imagination pool Paul White has concocted a heavy mix of psychedia, hard-rock, eastern groove and afro-beat sounds to create one of the strangest club bangers i've heard in a while. All high octane chants, compressed live beats and crazy organ grinding, 'My Guitar Whales' is an absolute treat. 'My Bright Future' also oozes creative charm. Based around a plucky little piano line and infested with all sorts of sample interludes and top off with a rad bassline....what more could you ask for? Ace.
