Washing DC’s Medications 2010 album “Completely Removed” is a departure from their usual twisted rock sound having parted company with Andy Becker before recording. A clue may be in the title. Their new sound doesn’t necessarily fit in with legendary hardcore label Dischord, to which they are signed.

Here, they meld the post-rock sound of Tortoise and The Sea and Cake with the more melodic and angular music of Sunderland’s Field Music. It’s basically an album of original, spritely alternative guitar pop. It’s all good, but “Seasons” and “Postcards” stand out and they really turn up the Field Music on closer “Tame On The Prowl”.
