Well I played LA Vampires first. I've no idea what speed it's supposed to be on. 33 I guess as it sounds less Pinkerton & Perkertree. I'm a little destraceted by the sleeve. Dunno why. More hypno-tropical-gogic sludge to wade my fat ears through by the sound of it. Like Telepathe & Pocahaunted choking on US Girls smog. Aquatic female vocals, blurred dubby low-end, clickety tribal percussion, Zola Jesus being crucified by Gang Gang Dance. Spectral, reedy synth lines chattering away amongst the sonic glue, endlessly burrowing into your conscience. Halfway through an acid casualty Sun Araw style guitar/trombone effect starts yawning shards of languid jazz blues distortion across this fantastically wasted & stumbling soundscape, the drugged mumbled mantra of a vocal becoming quite an alarming sound! The Psychic Reality side is built around an echoey drum machine, like this industrial dub waltz or summat. The unintelligable vocals/distorted wail fit in quite nicely, then this spooky effect on the keyboard hits me. I'm liking this style as much as the other style. Once again you've a heavily warped version/style of DIY indie rock that sounds like a Lynchian dream sequence put through a lo-fi blender. Both sides are quite the maddest thing, I'm fond of this highly erratic mess of a record already.
