8/10 Brian Staff review, 11 February 2010
A collection of tracks that explore the parallel worlds of fantastical, futuristic electronica/cyber-glitch, sometimes interspersed with reflective piano. It can occasionally lead to initial bouts of disorientation with a lot of contrasting things juxtaposed leading to "multiple room syndrome" *, but buried within the melee are these morphing rhythms, moody ambient synths and hyper-clickety digital "percussion" - it reminds me of some of the old Worm Interface/Toytronic stuff and the first wave of Russian electronica such as EU. Some nice production on here but i'm unsure whether the flickering sound i'm getting on the charming 'A Teacup of Chinese Mess ' is our CD player having one of its old-age fits or part of the overall audio works. Fans of Joseph Nothing and Mochipet's more subtle output may be taken with some of this gear. Nice to hear some quality skittering old-skool sounds!! (* "multiple room syndrome" is when you're really hammered at a party trying to hold down a conversation in a corridor whilst battling with several different streams of music seeping from various rooms along said corridor: leading you to vacate said premises in a fit of utter discombobulation & despair!)
