Didn't know Vivian Girls were talent scouts now? They've adopted this M/F 3 piece (seems only to be two of them in pictures?) who specialise in stripped back, atmospheric minimal rock that I find quite delightful. Clean, linear stuff that harks back to early Go Betweens, Delta 5, Au Pairs & 80's NZ girl group Look Blue Go Purple. The emphasis is on crispy fresh minor chord changes on an electric guitar, vague bass strokes and very basic drum rhythms with the female vocals taking the harmonic lead. They've got this pure, unfussy aura about them, the songs not weighed down with unnecessary trimmings. I just hear simplicity & charm. For a classic reference, fans of a lot of the early K records gear may fall in love with this EP & singles collection!
