I imagine this Don't Die Wondering compilation is hoping to act as a gateway drug on to stronger stuff, ie a further interest in the up 'n' comers involved. Packaging it up no frills (but still attractively enough to easily put most other CDr releases to shame) and selling it cheap is the way to do it! So for your measly five-and-a-bit pounds you get tunes from the likes of A Grave With No Name (odd lo-fi distorto-pop), the crackingly-named Egyptian Hip-Hop (twinkly indie-electro float-pop), Becoming Real (Lucky Dragons-ish sample-step), Desert Disco (beaty ambient grooves) and loads more. It all makes for a coherent, lively and fun listen I have to say, showing off the more interesting end of the indie/electronics intersection that's becoming increasingly prominent these days. My interest in the bands involved has certainly been piqued.. Job done!
