Japanese outfit Minamo have a disc out on 12k which is a really pleasant electro-acoustic album, created using more analogue than digital processing than their previous works. The magic here is really the subtle use of effects and post-production that doesn't smother the original organic elements but allows them to breathe and find space. The guitar for example is clearly recognizable yet has just a precise amount of electronic glitter (effects pedals) to make it sparkle without transforming the sound too much. Overall every element feels very considered and each instrument retains its identity. This is a prime example of how organic/acoustic instruments and electronics can work in total harmony. The overall vibe throughout is very sweet and may well appeal to fans of stuff on the Flau label. 'Duree' certainly retains a very good balance of the experimental and the accessible. Lots of metallic twinkles and a slightly melancholic feel make this an engaging listen for those of you that like it twinkly.
