Nice thing in from top dog Belgian imprint WeMe by Francois De Roubaix, this self trained French soundtrack composer. We have this delicious double vinyl in of his scores to both L'Antarctique & Autres Séances Électroniques Rue De Courcelles and I don't quite know how to describe it! There's snatches of jazzy pop, excitable modular synthesiser action, soothing ambient passages, embryonic electronic funk, aquatic lounge and some gorgeous, dramatic classical elements. He was commissioned to score L'Antarctique by this Jacques-Yves "Commander" Cousteau guy who was obviously some kind of tone deaf shitehawk (regardless of his other incredibly notable achievements!!!) as he sniffily turned down this beautiful, moving work of utter genius for being "too avant-garde". Never mind. This recording is a real journey and given that it was recorded in the 70s it has aged remarkably well. Should definitely be of prime interest to all collectors of Library & Radiophonic Workshop recordings. Tasty double vinyl me hearties!!
