Bardo 'Bloody' Pond. The 'bloody' was added by me as a way of conveying both their ubiquity and their knack for making your ears hurt with their heavy, heavy sound. Despite its self title, Bardo Pond was their 8th album originally released in 2010. It's typical of their work in being kind semi-improvised space rock jams with long drawn out bits. The feint hearted need not apply.

No idea when these tracks were recorded but these busy bees are sounding as druggy and psychedelic as ever with that lovely slightly sludgy slow motion heavyness. 'Don't Know About You' is particularly satisfying managing to maintain the aforementioned appeal combined while still being pretty fuckin' rockin' at the same time. No mean feat but let's face it these aren't new kids on the block and have been playing for ages now while more than likely necking wheelie bins full of hallucinogenics. 'Sleeping' goes into a more ethereal zone while 'Cracker Wrist' is serious business building up into a full on toad smoking psychedelic frenzy. A return to form some might say... I'm enjoying it for sure.
