New thing on Squirrel = The Blanche Hudson Weekend (apparently featuring ex-members of The Manhattan Love Suicides). Hey they're using 'Be My Baby' style drums, I couldn't have guessed that'd be the case before I'd even put it on. If you're gonna do it at least have Bobby Gillespie playing it stood up, looking like a bit of a plank. I'm sure you all know what you're getting with Squirrel by now and whether you're into it or not.. Doo-wop, lo-fi, Velvets, JAMC, Spector, all that stuff. 'Crying Shame' is as good an example of what they do as I've heard though. On the B-side you've got one that's a stormier shoegazier wall of sound and another that amps it up a notch further. Fans'll dig it the Letters To Daddy EP
