Suicide synth-hero Martin Rev treated the world to this solo album back in 2009. And you might be surprised by how it sounds: none of that Suicide pummel here. Instead, Stigmata is a set of seemingly religiously-inspired pieces for synthetic orchestra: the sound of some strange future space-church perhaps? This curious work is reissued on Blast First Petite.

8/10 Jack Customer review, 12th July 2016
You never know what's coming...especially when Martin Rev is making a new album. I love this one, it's beautiful, esoteric and haunting. There are musical themes that re-emerge throughout (not a bad thing by any stretch). Some of the most creative use of minimalist orchestral keyboards I've heard. If that praise seems too lavish, decide for yourself. It's mystic pop introducing itself as classical music. I love his whispering voice through the arrangements. It's majestic and honest, a real friend of an album.
