I had to review something mad to end the evening. I'm itching for a can of Tryskie and with members of Graveyards, Burning Star Core & Borbetomagus colluding to give me a migraine with their insane, relentless blend of squalling, squealing 'n' squawking free-jazz , completely manic as fuck percussion abuse - not to mention wildly discombobulated & massively entertaining frequencies - i'd have to conclude that this self-titled recording , 'The New Monuments' is one of those records you could happily term as genuinely, totally mad. As mad a huge luminous pink elastic hammock stuffed with long-eared wrestling badgers smoking random dried moustache clippings whilst quoting passages from partially charred Aldous Huxley paperbacks, in Korean. Ltd vinyl in thick sleeve on Important, this will either have you arrested/sectioned or get you in a really vicious fight with your neighbours. Lovin' it.
