It by Pulp

Pulp It. Pulpit geddit? Years before Jarv Is Jarvis Cocker was already playing around with words. This was Pulp's 1983 debut mini LP and is a million miles away from the chart bothering glam -pop they would go on to make. However Jarvis Cocker's voice is unmistakeable and this mainly acoustic-led album is pretty damn charming.

Well, it may sound absolutely nothing like anything else the band's ever done, but this really isn't a terrible album. There's a kind of charming innocence about it that we haven't seen in any of their later work (no irony here), and while the songs aren't exactly awe-inspiring, tunes like My Lighthouse, Joking Aside, and Love Love are good enough that the Pulp devotee should hear them. The lyrics on the whole album are top notch as usual, and the relatively lower production value is charming for a band that has come such a long way since.
