This Circle album 'Triumph' is a bit unexpected but then I suppose with Circle you can expect the unexpected. It starts off with a kinda jazzy Kraut rock-ish number with meandering piano. 6/10 Ant Staff review, 13 February 2009
This Circle album 'Triumph' is a bit unexpected but then I suppose with Circle you can expect the unexpected. It starts off with a kinda jazzy Kraut rock-ish number with meandering piano. Then it lunges into a dramatic dark string track that makes me think of Jerry Goldsmith with a very slight electro pulse. Then flip to the C side and there is a demented vocal that sounds like Scatman John doing a black metal cover whilst having a seizure. The music is pretty cool though. I must say for the greater part it is a lot more mellow and evocative than I'm used to hearing from this Finnish avant-rock band. Actually the piano features quite heavily and is particularly pleasant on 'Dungeon'. The last tune which I'm not going to attempt to spell is completely over the top theatrical metal vocals. Like a metal opera where I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry. Lush gatefold sleeve 2LP on Fourth Dimension.

10/10 Bob LaBla Customer review,

From the review, it sounds like Ant listened to the  disks out of order.   The metal-mayhem track is side 1, not side 4.  It makes more sense if you listen to it in order - this album has a very nice 'story arc'.
