Phil gave me Thee Waxworks single to review, a two track CD that he thinks is my sorta thang. He's not wrong - the 1st tune 'Altamont' is something like a trashy old garage style Fall tribute that's escaped down the hill on the back of an out of control milkfloat with Gallon Drunk & David Cronenbourg's Wife chasing it in hot pursuit. Contains conversational lyrics with cultural references type o' thing. The other tune has a more Velvets-y approach, referencing 'I'm Waiting For The Man' with a bit of a cute homespun Dylan vibe, trilling harmonica in tow. They sound like a great knockabout bunch with a real homely touch, I like to think you'd dig their CD!
