Got myself a limited split 7" single on Black Kitten from Darren Hayman and Antony Harding. Darren Hayman's contribution is a little indie pop plod-along entitled 'The Bands That Don't Reform'. It's got all the traits of a classically trained twee indie single that charts the of the band on tour with a sub plot implying an out and out love of bands that don't reform. It's a steady number that kinda passes me by. On the B-side we've got 'A Soft Place' by Antony Harding. Again, this is a proper twee-o indie pop single in the vein of Belle and Sebastian. Hardings voice is tiny small and the instrumentation is almost whispered. On the plus side, I really like the bass guitar sound, it's well vintage sounding and very tasteful.
