Sidra seems to be some sort of new series Bo' Weavil are doing and the first one is 'NEWtoons' by N.E.W. (Steve Noble, John Edwards, Alex Ward), offered in a hand-numbered 180g vinyl edition of 325. Expect electrified free rippin' distorto-jazz, with Noble's guitar shedding away in a rockin' bluesy style like John McLaughlin if he'd have been schooled in the Magic Band (broken overloaded amp era) while Edwards and Ward careen away in a perpetual race to the finish, wherever that may be. Recorded live in London and Gateshead (where they've got a tidy improv scene going by all accounts), this is frenetic and energising and great and everything. Buy one!
