Is King Cannibal the new Bug? I dunno but he's also on Ninja Tune and has collaborated with Daddy Freddy, a chap who's dropped some mighty impressive zillion miles per hour toasting in his time. The EP kicks of with 'So.. Embrace The Minimum' which has a rumbling D&B bassline and dubby chord stabs, the bass builds into gnarly territory increasing the vibe.... 'Dirt' is an apt title for the track featuring Master Freddy and it's a rough and filthy gangsta future dub cut complete with gunshots and bodybag lyrics. The bassline is techy and the reverb and delay give the track a real huge sense of scope. You can well imagine this slamming out some some enormous bassbins. King Cannibal's production skills really shine on this track proving he's up there with some of the best in this horror-step game. Big fat 12" on Ninja Tune... High grade ammo for an evening of sonic bass warfare. Also if you're new to Daddy Freddy I can totally recommend his 'Oldschool Newschool' album with the amazing Rootsman.
