I don't know what they've done with the sleeve for this Ekkehard Ehlers and Paul Wirkus LP but SMTG have presented Ballads in finely printed silvery style. I don't know what they've done with the sleeve for this Ekkehard Ehlers and Paul Wirkus LP but SMTG have presented Ballads in finely printed silvery style. Phil's just pointed out that they did that Svarte Greiner LP with the amazing birdy man picture on the front so they've got previous for high quality artwork. Musically we're in territory that makes me think of a middle ground between dark ambient and twisted chamber jazz stuff like Bohren & Der Club of Gore with its highly atmospheric and gloomy mixture of electronics, double bass and clarinet.. Like the soundtrack to some sort of impressionistic avant-garde film noir when the anti-hero's moving in slow motion through a bar dense with smoke after a stolen glance of a femme fatale you know well in advance is going to fuck his shit right up.
