Oh man, I love Robert Henke and everything but I'm not sure what I've done to deserve reviewing two CDs made under his own name in a row. Oh man, I love Robert Henke and everything but I'm not sure what I've done to deserve reviewing two CDs made under his own name in a row. It's not that it's bad or anything, I don't think he's got a bone in his body that doesn't have 'high quality' scrawled all over it in permanent marker by The Lord Himself, but this stuff's always arty installation stuff and I find that really hard to write about away from its intended context. Instead I'm reduced to imagining Robert doing his excitably camp little dances (check out his Monodeck demonstrations for examples) while this stark, elemental machine drone does its moody business all over my aural landscape. Water does seem to be a bit of a theme though, from the cover art to the sound of falling droplets which litter the single track, and it's that that makes me think that Indigo_Transform would make a wonderful soundtrack to a Tarkovsky film.. Stalker in particular. That's high praise I reckon.
