Dave i.d is a South-East London based artist and this is his first single release on new label Off The Uncertain Button (owned by Simon Owens, and Paul Mogg). It's packaged in a silver sleeve that looks well shiny and that. 'Why weren't the message sent?' sees Dave i.d mashing up hip-hop influences with touches of techno and industrial stuff to create a strangely un-nerving tune with a spooky monotone vocal. B-side 'Ilikethesoundofthemwithoutme' mixes up more styles and comes across sounding like some gothic indie pop cross-over. Again, it's very spooky and un-nerving, especially the moody vocal style. A strange yet inviting slab'o'vinyl.
