Mummy You're Not Watching Me by Television Personalities

Eighties underground post-punk group Television Personalities were a key part of the scene, lead by Dan Treacy’s smart lyrics and songcraft. Mummy You’re Not Watching Me is their second record, released in 1982 and packed full of special little indie pop songs. It’s getting a very handsome black / marbled white vinyl reissue here, courtesy of the Fire label.

Lots of my pals hate the TVPs. I love 'em. This one, "...Don't The Kids...", "...Bigger Than The Beatles", and the compilation on Seed are my faves. DIY broken down Punk-Pop-Psych is the only way I can describe them. Even though most of the songs have a pop culture theme, there's something really emotionally moving about the album that I can't adequately describe. When you're done listening, you'll want to either listen again or pick up a guitar. You owe it to yourself to check out this classic.
