Now I know everybody liked that Beach Head album but the Sun Araw record that did it for me was 'The Phynx'. Thought that was well Captain Marvelous. That Cameron dude has a new vinyl 12" record out called 'Heavy Deeds', it begins with some wonky DIY tropical swamp blues like Spiritualized & Alan Vega peyoted off their face in a humid bog. This remarkable record carries on in a distorted, sludgy, droney manner with some fantastic trippy sounds merging with some kind of meandering free-rock dream world. The guitar often sounds like some fucked-up acid-soaked wah-wah mess & the organ was probably found in a bin but I'm happily convinced the whole melee is going to gag me, throw me in the back of a camper van & take me to Hawaii to mingle with lovely ladies in hammocks whilst smoking something incredibly strong & psychedelic. The most trashed blues record I've heard in many a moon.....
