Time Lag seem to be well into the old tropicalia reissues at the moment and the previously private press-only 80 is the most recent, coming in on satisfyingly deluxe and (reassuringly) expensive CD and 180g vinyl versions. Fuck me, you need to click through and see Lula Cortes's head - it's like he's got one Carlos Valderrama living on his scalp and one on his chin. Time Lag seem to be well into the old tropicalia reissues at the moment and the previously private press-only 80 is the most recent, coming in on satisfyingly deluxe and (reassuringly) expensive CD and 180g vinyl versions. I know this is horrendously lazy of me but I've just read the press release on the site and it puts most liner notes you get with the classics to shame so I'd recommend having a peek at that if you're interested. All I'll say is this is some amazingly fun Latin psych, touching on all sorts of other genres from folk to prog to what almost sounds like the Grange Hill theme tune, while rounding it all is the addictive combination of acoustic and electric guitars and the man's impassioned, optimistic-sounding vocals. Christ only knows what he's on about but it sounds amazing!
