DJ Stingray returns to WeMe with a 12" of bubbling up-tempo electro backed by a remix from Heinrich Mueller (AKA Gerald Donald, Der Zyklus, Arpanet, Dopplereffekt, Japanese Telecom etc.) The 12" is called 'Drexciyan Connection'. I'm a fan of what both these guys do, so when this arrived I got excited. DJ Stingray drops a totally efficient throbbing dancefloor cut in the form of 'Drone Factory' with some super nice strings, robotic vocal and an overall sci-fi/ futurist feel. For 'Much Hate' the sounds are aimed staright at the head. A simple metronomic percussion provides the backbone of some really weird futuristic synth sounds. As always with Stingray's stuff the more you hear it the more you notice and appreciate the fine details in his production. 'Drone FX' on the flipside is the Heinrich Mueller version of 'Drone Factory' He takes the basic elements and reconstructs them to give them a little bit of his own flavour. There's more emphasis on the strings and overall a much warmer human sound which is a nice contrast to the robotic feel of the original.
