There's something immensely satisfying about playing tapes these days. Maybe it's an age thing or more probably rebelling against modern technology but whacking a tape on these days gives me immense pleasure. There's something immensely satisfying about playing tapes these days. Maybe it's an age thing or more probably rebelling against modern technology but whacking a tape on these days gives me immense pleasure. I'm amazed at how good they sound still... a total cock to get to a certain track or point in an album mind you but they're fun things... Another Blackest Rainbow-er this week is a tape (see.. my intros have a point) by Spoils And Relics called Alabaster Silk. The album focuses on a reinvention of found artifacts, applied as tools to further explorations of prehistoric futures present (cut and pasted from the press release). So couldn't be bothered to re word it... would have taken me hours.... it's a weird improvised hum broken up by electronics and found sounds. It's a hard one to describe... There is something primordial and boggish about it. In fact I feel like I'm in some sort of humid death swamp surrounded by massive flies and slow moving prehistoric creatures. It's really quite an interesting one if you stick with it!!
