More 7" fun. this time from Portugal's Noiserv. I've never been to Portugal... I should really go... been to Spain a million times and never been to Portugal. I'm starting to feel ashamed.....Mind you, you think I'd be used to the feeling of shame by now. Bullets on Parade is a brilliant song... it's so simple and sparse sounding. It's got a looping acoustic guitar with some xylophone twinkles and then some breathy, emotive sounding, moving 'man vocals' which add so much to the whole thing. His vocals sound all melty and it's probably as close as you can get to a pack of Lockets for your ear. Can you still buy Lockets? I used to buy them as packets of sweets. Man they ruled.... I guess Jose Gonzalez is the best comparison I can think of. It's such a laidback charming song and it's not normally the sort of thing that would appeal but it's done so well and it's so catchy I can't help myself. It's thoroughly delicious. The flip is a remix of Tokyo Girl by Dollboy and it's a complete contrast to the A side with it's slightly Goldfrapp-esque glam-esque electro stomp. I like it but not as much as the A side. Smashing! On Autumn Ferment Records!
