Nice re-issue of the second album from Greg Sage's post-punk greats. This is where the band got all cold and nihilistic and spread six long tracks that burn with a fiery intensity across the LP. It's a harsh angular sound that influenced Mission of Burma amongst others and led Kurt Cobain to consider it one of the top 50 records to be released ever.

9/10 Jack Customer review, 23rd August 2016The first three Wipers records are all brilliant, but Youth of America is the one that really stands out. While it contains the vibrancy and intensity of punk rock, it displays musicianship and creative production not always found in the genre. This is an album that is definitely the brain child of a single mind, but the ability to bring so many elements into a punk rock album has made it the standard bearer for others, such as Sonic Youth or Dinosaur Jr., who would bring punk to new musical levels.
