Around the Well by Iron and Wine

Man with beard Sam Beam has gone from hushed singer songwriter to more boisterous bandleader in his time as Iron & Wine and this B sides and rarities collection is split in half down similar lines. The first part contains early, intimate solo recordings while the second half is more studio-based full band type stuff. Contains rare covers of the Flaming Lips and New Order and is a must for any fans of his work.

Iron and Wine followers are in for a real treat with the release of 'Around The Well' which is a value for money collection of rarities. B-Sides, and previously unreleased material. The triple vinyl pack comes with a download code and a poster and the CD is a double disc set. I'm probably preaching to the converted here but if you're not familiar with Iron and Wine then you ought to check this stuff out if you're looking for lovely singer songwriter/ alt country/ Americana/ pop type stuff. There's even a cover of Stereolab's 'Peng! 33' Out on Sub Pop.
