'When a Man Loves Snother Man' is the 7" single by The Mores. Ant thinks it sounds like Rod Stewart and I reckon they are trying their damndest to tap into the classic British rock way of crafting a pop song. Some of the melody arrangement reminds me of 'People Are Strange' by The Doors and uses a similar saloon bar piano style. Whimsical, lovely stuff with some lyrical banter about loving other men which makes the Business Lady feel left out...... What about the ladies, man. B-side 'Life After life' is a little wet. It's got lush piano motifs, violins and heartbreaking vocals. It's like The Bluetones wetting the bed or Ben Folds Five hiding out in toilet circuit pubs attempting to craft the perfect English lullaby.
