The pains of being pure at heart have only been together a year and are already considered the hippest cats on the scene. I guess they are an immaculately presented teenage indie rock outfit from New York which is a rare and exciting thing in these modern times. 'Young adult fiction' is sounds like the best of british indie rock filtered through the NY style academy and spit right back at us. It's a winning tune that comes off sounding like prime era Pulp and could easily wipe the floor with Black Kids on the dancefloor. 'Ramona' is more in keeping with the likes of My Bloody Valentine with it's steady reverb drenched groove and it's lazy Ride-esq vocal line. Not bad for a bunch of super hip NY scenesters. Oh, this comes on blood coloured vinyl, nice.
