Cave! I've always loved these guys! Since about two weeks ago when that ace 7" came in. That set winkies rising for the LP which has arrived in big, colourful packaging from the good people at Important (there's a CD version too, which is smaller). This had been on for a track or two before Phil mentioned what it was and I must admit I was a little disappointed, but sitting down and actually concentrating on it I do like it. Hypnotic, bass-heavy rock grooves and krauty drumming are the foundations for (largely) instrumental jams of fuzzy guitars hammering away.. And that's pretty much it really. But they quite often do a fantastic job of it, you know? Sometimes they even get a bit Tortoisey, which is nice.. I dunno though, maybe it's not quite as full on as I was hoping for? 'Psychic Psummer' is still good though!
