The Horrors album was apparently the most amazing album of the year so far according to all the pre release hype. Well it's been played a couple of times and we think it's OK... certainly nothing groundbreaking but it's a decent hodgepodge of borrowed sounds and pastiches lovingly put together. I think it may have faired better if the hype hadn't been so in your face as it's never gonna live up to those expectations. Nothing ever does... when will they learn?? 'Who Can Learn' is the 1st single off the album and it's the really fuzzy sounding one where the guitars sound like tiny (but loud) motorbikes. I think the production wins hands down with their new stuff but I'm not sure if the songs are all there? I like the 50's style break in the middle where it slows down and does a Ronettes style thing. I don't know actually. I think this could be a pretty good tune and if I heard it on the radio I'd end up liking the fucker. Backed with an exclusive B side called 'You Could Never Tell'.
