We Were Promised Jet packs play driving, melodic indie rock with disco beats much like Editors or Bloc party. 'Quiet little voices' is both epic in scale and grand in it's delusions. They do have a good point though, we we're promised Jetpacks and flying cars for that matter. I assumed i'd be living in what looks a like air-traffic control tower in the middle of a deeply tree populated forest like Endor living a utopian existence in harmony with my environment. What the fuck happened there? I don't even have a fucking hover board. Maybe Michael J. Fox has the prototype from Back to the Future he could pass on to me, i don't reckon he'll be doing much hovering nowadays...bless him. The chorus on 'Let's call this a map' sounds well like early Strokes but whats the point in releasing demo's on vinyl nowadays...put it up your myspace, wax is expensive so save it for the good stuff.

ahh..finally this gets a proper release, it's one of the finest songs of the year 2008, hands down.. this is more upbeat version of The Twilight Sad.. I reckon this will be Normans single of the week..
