Minor White by Emma Tricca

Oh, this is nice. Italian-born, London-based singer-songwriter Emma Tricca's sophomore solo LP is a little beauty. 'Minor White' was released in 2009 -- yet sounds like it could have been made at least 4 decades longer ago. Emma's ear-catchingly fragile vocal and delicate, nuanced acoustic guitar have been seducing fans of her craft for many a year. Her influences include John Renbourn and Nick Drake, and it's a heartwarming listen. Limited LP in handmade sleeve on Bird recs.

Emma Tricca is a Italian born singer songwriter based in London. A traveling folkster with a keen ear for a tune, 'Minor White' documents Emma's adventures in folk music so far. All the tracks comprise of an isloated acoustic guitar and vocal with occasional backing from strings that perfectly compliment Emma's rousing vocals and nostalgic, romantic lyrics. You can hear mid 70's folk influences here from friend and mentor John Renbourn, Nick Drake's 'Pink Moon' and maybe John Fehey. It's warm, inviting and completely inoffensive stuff that would sound pleasant to almost any ear. A beautiful and timeless collection of songs from an emerging modern folk talent. The limited handmade L.P sleeve is also very nice.
