It's amazing to think that William Basinski's '92982' was recorded in 1982 as it's the sort of thing that could come out on Kranky these days. Actually we're reminded of stuff like Tim Hecker, The Caretaker etc. This music features ultra soothing ambience and floating melodies. So much so that Phil just declared "I feel like I'm floating on a fucking cloud". I'm not sure how the sounds on here have been created but they have a timeless ghostly quality to them. A bit of a visionary this chap and well ahead of his time. '92982.4' is a treated piano smothered an strange frequiencies and low end rumbling. Quite a weird track. A pretty excellent album that's stood the test of time. Out on 2062. All these numbers are confusing me, like those Martyn records.

10/10 futurestar

I was moved to embrace our world in compassion with a nod toward possible mystery going unsolved, a comfort with not knowing and may never. A settled calm hovers over the bleak madness. We as human are very busy with our demise. There's a beauty in the living and having some put to fine tune.
