Probably not the best introduction to the band if you've been hiding under a rock since 1989 and have never heard them, but there's some interesting stuff on here for completists.
It's mostly made up of b-sides and assorted cover versions, but there are a couple of killer tracks on here too. Kurt Cobain apparently said Teenage Fanclub were the best band in the world when he heard the sludgy yet wonderfully melodic Everything Flows, and it's easy to see how he came to that conclusion when you listen to it, even at this distance. Stand-alone single 'God Knows It's True' is an equally brilliant track in the same vein, dense layers of guitars backing up a typically brilliant melody with the usual killer chorus, both tracks hinting at some of the marvels yet to come from one of the best guitar pop acts of the 1990s.

"Deep Fried Fanclub" is an odds and sods compilation from Teenage Fanclub's early days. The standout moment here is the non-album single "God Knows It's True" which is great, catchy indie-rock. There are also covers that highlight the band's influences: The Beatles "Ballad Of John And Yoko", Alex Chilton's "Free Again" and Neil Young and Crazy Horse's "Don't Cry No Tears". It's great if you're an uber-fan like me and wish to fill in all the gaps but probably not something for the casual observer.
