Late arrival of the week is a 7" by Kwes called 'Hearts in Home', a post modernist slice of delicious ambient pop with this looming Meat Beat Manifesto/PIL bassline and what sounds like one of those mad thumb pianos that the congotronics folks endorse - that creaky noise is just so cool, like a rusty/wonky squawk! His voice is calmly measured, slightly sing-song, the samples are really twinkly & organic, very fresh & alive with wonder. The beats are totally sublime and unobtrusive and the song flows dreamily in this otherworldly fashion, strikingly original & begging for a replay again & again. A Friday morning delight to temper my hangover. Don't drink Cobra beer kids......
